MEET TEDDY BEAR!

We met Teddy in October 18' when he came to us for grooming. A week later we received a call stating our little friend broke his leg and they're on the way to an emergency animal hospital. After Teddy was seen by the vet they were only given one option, euthanasia or spend thousands on amputation. After we heard that, we wanted to help!

Teddy was purchased from a backyard breeder. After getting him seen by Exotic Animal Veterinary Center, we learned that this sweet boy's other leg had previously been broken and he has a calcium deficiency. The calcium deficiency explains why his bones are so fragile. 

​

Teddy is doing a lot better; however, Teddy's break has not yet completely healed despite being on protein and calcium supplements and still needs weekly bandage changes. He is such a brave young soul with a huge loving personality!

Teddy is the sweetest most loving little man. He deserved a second chance and we're just happy we could give that to him!

UPDATE

It's been a year now and Teddy has grown into an amazing bunny! His legs are healed and bones are strong. He is now bonded to another one of our rescues, Bluebell who lost her rear leg over a year ago due to severe infection. They are the happiest and most loving pair in the Burrow!

OH PIPPEN!

Pippen is one of our personal rescues!

We found Pippen April 8th, 2013 on Craigslist while looking to purchase an exercise pen. He was advertised in a small bird cage with nothing but a carrot and a round piece of cardboard. It's been love ever since!

Pippen is a small lionhead mix! He's small in stature with a huge personality, but he and his very large wife produce a lot of hair and it's hard for his tiny gut to process all the hair from grooming; it's very sensitive. In less than five months, Pippen has undergone two bloat surgeries. Last surgery was on 1/8/18. Both successful, but none the less heart breaking and terrifying. We are doing what we can to minimize the hair consumption by keeping Pippen and his wife Stella on intestinal stimulants, Laxatone, grooming and vacuuming their area daily.

We want to thank everyone for the prayers and the warm wishes! It truly means a lot. We are so glad Pippen is back to his normal self!

UPDATE:

This summer Pippen underwent a mass removal and shortly after went into bloat again and required emergency surgery. Both surgery went as smooth as the last several; however, several hours after recovering from surgery Pippen threw a blood clot and passed away in my arms. 

​

Pippen will never be forgotten and will forever be loved!
